My name is Sabine Knopper (born in Houten, 1968). Even as a child, I knew for sure: I wanted to be a fashion designer.
Throughout my studies at the Technical School for Fashion (Utrecht) and the Artemis Academy (Amsterdam), I discovered that my true strength did not lie in tailoring or styling, but in visualization—I proved to be a creator with a passion for illustration.
Although I spent a few years working in the ready-to-wear fashion industry, life eventually led me to the corporate services sector. For years, I didn’t touch a pencil, until 2018, when I rediscovered my love for drawing through art therapy. A year later, I began painting, and things progressed rapidly from there on. My debut exhibition at the Nijmegen Art Night (Nijmeegse Kunstnacht) in 2019 gave me the confidence to fully embrace my identity as an artist: Zabpy K. Paintings was born.  Today, drawing and painting are my greatest passion.

Style and Process
Inspired by my love for fashion illustration, I create work that surprises—both the viewer and myself. I work primarily on canvas, using a combination of acrylic paint and markers. Through these materials, I translate my "everyday thoughts" into a visual form. For me, the act of creation is a form of self-reflection and renewal; on the canvas, I remain my own art therapist, constantly evolving.
